Mayors Meet In Idabel For Summer Conference

July 27, 2017

Last week in Idabel, the Mayor’s Council of Oklahoma (MCO), the City of Idabel, and OML hosted the Mayor’s Summer Conference. With over 63 attendees, the conference was a huge success.

On Thursday the MCO Board and the OML Board met and discussed various issues. After, the Idabel Country Club welcomed the attendees, served them lunch, and allowed the Golf Scramble to take place. For the non-golfers during the Golf Scramble, they took a tour of the Wheelock Academy and Museum.

On Friday, attendees toured the Idabel Fire Department, the McCurtain County Regional Airport, and the Museum of the Red River. In addition, the Mayor of Oklahoma City, Mick Cornett, spoke to everyone about economic development and how it affects Oklahoma City and the state of Oklahoma as a whole. Attendees also heard from newly appointed Executive Director Mike Fina on the future of OML and what exciting changes Oklahoma’s cities and towns can expect from the new administration.

MCO and OML thank the City of Idabel and Mayor Tina Foshee-Thomas, for their incredible welcome and for hosting the Mayor’s Summer Conference.
